Paloma was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1991. As a cattle vet’s daughter, she grew up in Lincoln, a small town in Buenos Aires Province, where she spent most of her childhood taking part in her father’s activity. Her playground was his laboratory. Her toys were blood, semen and feces samples. Her entertainment was observing sick organs in jars, witnessing autopsies, assisting calving and participating in reproductive palpation. Fascinated with being able to touch a living fetus with her own hands, she encountered the frailty of life from a very young age and began to imagine the raw and organic universe from which, later in life, her body of work would emerge.
At the age of eighteen Paloma moved to Buenos Aires to study fine arts at the National Arts University, followed by art management and curatorial studies at ESEADE. She later received her training in sculpture and jewelry at arts et metiers private workshops in Paris, France, and perfected her traditional jewelry skills at the Buenos Aires School of Jewelry, as well as her gemology knowledge next to Carlos Leporace.
For the past decade, the artist has been in a multi-disciplinary search of developing her work, introducing techniques that do not belong to the traditional spectrum of the visual arts. In addition, her training in art management has given her a broader aproach to art and a variety of work experiences. She has curated different projects and exhibitions in both private galleries and public museums in Buenos Aires; directed the MALBA Joven (Asociación de Amigos del Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires) board and served as a consultant for Donde Quiero Estar Foundation and the Buenos Aires Art District in the Government of the City of Buenos Aires.
Her work has been showcased in Argentina and Germany and can be found in private collections in Argentina, France, Switzerland, Germany, UK and USA.
